Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, set the fastest race lap for the second time this year at the Canadian Grand Prix, despite not finishing on the podium for the first time this year.

However, he was still quick, and he was able to use Russell’s difficult battle with Oscar Piastri in front of him to his advantage.
He even briefly overtook the two of them, but Russell came back on Lap 68. Hamilton’s last counterattack on Lap 70 acquired him the DHL Quickest Lap and the reward point.
Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and Charles Leclerc are the three drivers who have already won the fastest race lap twice after nine rounds in 2024.
Fernando Alonso, George Russell and Oscar Piastri have set the best race lap once each.
